Fill in the Words:
Louis Daguerre was born near ____________________. A trained set painter for plays in the opera with a hobby for lighting effects, Daguerre began testing with what happened with light upon clear paintings in the 1820s. He used the ___________________(remember that?) a lot to help him with his painting the sets for plays and this got him thinking on how to he could keep the image still. In 1826, he discovered the work of Joseph Niepce, and in 1829 began a group with him, in order to boost the photography steps that Niepce had invented, although Niepce (who died in 1833) made the first photograph, Niepce's photographs would soon _____________. After many years of further testing, Daguerre created a better way of photography, naming it after himself - the _____________.
Daguerre did this through, using copper plates coated with a new mix of chemicals (silver iodide) to make more direct pictures. However his most important discovery was when he found by accident that the image on a plate could be brought out quicker or 'developed' with the smoke of another chemical (mercury). And so by using mercury mists the photographic procedure was now made instead of the eight hour process that Niepce had made, Daguerre's process took _______________. In 1837 Daguerre discovered that using salt during the creation period, the photographs could be more clear and then two years later used a different chemical to fix the photograph (thiosulphate of soda).
Daguerre from his new and better method of photography from 1837 he made many unbeaten photos and on ____________, at a meeting in Paris, the Daguerreotype process was revealed to the world.
